Horse Lake
Lake life and rural living, east of 100 Mile House.
Horse Lake is a long, rural lake community east of 100 Mile House, with residential pockets, waterfront homes, acreages, farms and vacant land spread across a large area. The western end can feel close to town, while properties farther along the lake or surrounding roads can have substantially different drive times and access considerations.
A lake community with room to spread out
Horse Lake extends for approximately 18 kilometres. Its shoreline and surrounding roads offer a mix of waterfront settings, established neighbourhoods and larger rural properties.
The right fit depends on more than a community name. Consider how often you travel to town, the type of property you want and whether lake access is part of your plans.

Time on the water
Boating, paddling and fishing are part of the appeal of Horse Lake. Your experience of the lake will vary with the season, weather and the access available to you.
For stocking history, use the official fisheries records rather than a dated list of release numbers. Check current regulations before fishing.

Questions about living at Horse Lake
How far is Horse Lake from 100 Mile House?
It depends on the property. The western end is closer to town, while addresses farther along the lake and connecting roads can involve a considerably longer drive. Check the route from the actual address.
Why might a Horse Lake property have a Lone Butte mailing address?
A mailing address can differ from the community name used locally. Use the specific road and property location to understand where a home sits; a postal community alone does not establish proximity to the lake.
Does every Horse Lake property have community water?
No. Community water serves Anderson Subdivision; properties elsewhere rely on private supplies. Community water does not include sewer service: properties still use individual septic systems. Confirm the arrangements for the specific property.
Does a Horse Lake address mean waterfront?
No. The wider community includes waterfront homes, inland neighbourhoods, acreages, farms and vacant land. Confirm the property boundaries and any legal lake-access rights.
